Alonzo Menifield KO’s Paul Craig In First Round At UFC On ESPN 3

Alonzo Menifield showed of his ferocious punching power tonight at UFC On ESPN 3 with a first round knockout of Paul Craig.

Strangely, Menifield opted to clinch up with Craig in the opening minute of the fight, which led to warnings from his coaching team to let go.

Menifield eventually complied after Craig tried and failed to pull guard.

From there it was Craig who started trying to work for takedowns, without much success, whhile Menifield found a home for a few punches.

Then Craig started to get more out of his comfort zone, trying a couple of spinning kicks in a row. The first was somewhat effective, but he fell after the second attempt, and as he rolled onto his back Menifield greeted him with a big right hook and then several more huge right hands behind it that rendered him unconscious, with a couple landing after he was already out.
