A torn ACL has forced Felice Herrig out of her UFC 238 fight with Xiaonan Yan in Chicago on June 8th, but the promotion have now drafted in a replacement for her.
Angela Hill will now take the fight instead on just over a month’s notice, just days after emerging victorious against Jodie Esquibel by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 150.
That was Hill’s first win in her last three Octagon outings, having been defeated by Cortney Casey and Randa Markos before that.
With an overall 3-4 run during her second stint in the UFC, Hill currently lies outside of the top 15 strawweight rankings, as does her new opponent.
However, Yan is actually on a three-fight winning streak in the UFC after defeating Kailin Curran, Viviane Pereira and Syuri Kondo since joining the promotion back in late 2017.
In total that leaves the 29-year-old with a 10-1 (+1nc) record and a win over Hill could help her chances of breaking into the rankings at last.
