Anthony Smith had Ryan Spann’s number tonight at UFC Fight Night 192, rocking him multiple times in the opening minutes of the first round, before going on to submit him with a rear-naked choke.
Round One:
The main event is underway in Las Vegas.
Outside calf kick from Smith. Front kick to the body from Spann. Now a jab from him. Another calf kick from Smith then backs up.
Clipping left hook from Smith, but then gets caught by a grazing hook from Spann. Spann then clinches up, picks him up and moves him across the Octagon.
However, Spann can’t do anything with this and they soon separate. Smith lands a big left hook and hurts Spann and he staggers to the mat.
Smith wades in looking to land more damage and then attempts an armbar, but Spann rolls out of it and gets back up.
Smith quickly firing heavy leather. Jab from Spann. Right hand for Spann. Left hand for Smith hurts Spann again and he’s looking wobbled on his feet here.
Smith lands again and Spann is jelly-legged and another hook puts him down. Smithh stays patient and then secures Spann’s back with both hooks in.
He’s trying to flatten him out, then just goes for the rear-naked choke anyway and quickly forces a tap-out at 3.47mins of the first round.
