Antonio Rogerio Nogueira Defeats Sam Alvey By TKO At UFC Fight Night 137

Veteran Brazilian star Antonio Rogerio Nogueira proved he’s still got it at 42-years-of-age tonight at UFC Fight Night 137 with a second round TKO victory over Sam Alvey.

Round One:

Leg kick for Alvey. Another one. Big overhand left from Alvey now. Back to the low leg kick from him now. Nogueira looks for the jab, but Alvey finds a home for his first. Again he lands with that, then back to thte leg kick.

Nogueira moves forward, but doesn’t let his hands go. Low kick and then a solid jab connects for Alvey. Nogueira misses with an overhand.

Nogueira with a big left hand now. Alvey steps forward with punches to get off the cage. Alvey takes an eyepoke and the ref forces a stoppage.

Alvey quickly back into the fight. Leg kick for him. Light leg kick from Nogueira. Punches from Alvey just glance Nogueira’s head.

Body punch from Nogueira. Jab for Alvey. Noguiera lands a clubbing strike in close. Exchange with punches from both. Alvey lands a left hand. Nogueira moves back and resets.

Alvey with a left hand. It’s Nogueira whose now taken to circling on the outside, but then in the final seconds of the round he steps forward and lands a punch, which has Alvey swinging wildly in return.

Round Two:

Body punch for Nogueira, Alvey lands a leg kick in return. Another low kick from him. Overhand left from Nogueira then steps in again.

Alvey looks hurt as Nogueira wades in with punches. Alvey rocked but still swinging. Nogueira stalking his prey quickly and letting his hands go. A chopping left hook drops Alvey to his knees and then Nogueira lands a few more punches, which leads to the referee calling an end to the fight at 1min of the second round, just as Alvey rallies and lands a takedown.

However, despite Alvey’s protest about what he believes is a premature stoppage he looks wobbly afterwards as he’s sat back down on the stool to recover. Big comeback TKO win for the veteran Nogueira!
