Bellator 226 Results

Bellator 226 took place last night and we’ve got all the results for you below.

In the main event of the evening, Ryan Bader’s first heavyweight title defense didn’t exactly go according to plan after the fight was waved off approaching the four minute mark of the first round after Cheick Kongo was unable to continue due to an accidental eye poke, resulting in a no-contest.

Bader had been getting the better of the early action, landing punches and then securing a takedown, followed up by heavy ground and pound until the eye poke, though backstage after the fight the double-champ was claiming that he’d caught him on the nose, not the eye.

The event also featured first-round featherweight grand-prix fights, with Emanuel Sanchez emerging with a triangle choke submission win over Tywan Claxton, while Pedro Carvalho booked his spot in the next round with a face-crank stoppage of Sam Sicilia, Adam Borics TKO’d Pat Curran at the end of the second round and Derek Campos dominated Daniel Straus to claim a uanimous decsion victory.
