Bellator’s latest ‘Summer Season’ event last Saturday night performed well on MTV2, drawing an average of 193,000 viewers in it’s Friday night slot.
That turns out to be the second best ratings for Bellator since the start of their sixth season earlier in the year – not bad considering that it was sandwiched in-between higher profile UFC and Strikeforce events over the past few weeks.
The inclusion of one of Bellator’s big new signings, former UFC and Strikeforce fighter Paul Daley on the main card may well have helped attract additional interest in the show, while other attractions such as the conclusion of the welterweight tournament ensured this was one of their strongest line-ups in recent times.
Bellator have one final ‘Summer Season’ event to go in August before they return to their usual weekly format for Season 7 on MTV2 at the end of September.
