A heavyweight clash between Ben Rothwell and Marcin Tybura is believed to be in the works for a UFC event on October 10th, though no location has yet been confirmed for it.
Rothwell is currently on a two-fight winning streak that began when he TKO’d Stefan Struve in December of last year.
After that he welcomed Ovince Saint Preux to his first fight at heavyweight earlier this year and went on to narrowly defeat him by split decision.
Those two wins have helped the 38-year-old Rothwell distance himself from a three-fight losing streak prior to that, but so far it’s not been enough to return him to the Top-15 heavyweight rankings.
The 34-year-old Tybura is also coming off back-to-back victories, having secured unanimous decision wins over both Sergey Spivak and Maxim Grishin in 2020 so far.
Like Rothwell, Tybura had endured a rough time in the Octagon prior to his recent success, going through a spell in which he won just once in five fights, and as such he too doesn’t currently feature on the heavyweight rankings heading into this fight.
Rothwell vs. Tybura is expected to join an October 10th event that doesn’t yet have any fights officially attached to it.
