Beneil Dariush Steps In To Fight Jim Miller At UFC On FOX 15

A knee injury has forced Paul Felder out of his preliminary card fight with Jim Miller at UFC On FOX 15 on April 18th in New Jersey.

Stepping in to replace him on three weeks notice is Beneil Dariush who’s coming fresh off a submission victory against Daron Cruickshank at UFC 185 just a couple of weeks ago.

Dariush is now on a three fight winning streak and is 4-1 overall since joining the UFC in January of last year.

This is a big step up in competition for Dariush though, with Miller being one of the UFC’s most experienced campaigners with an 18 fight run in the promotion to date.

Miller has a 13-4 (1nc) record overall inside the Octagon, but is coming off a KO loss to Donald Cerrone back in July of last year which brought an end to a four-fight unbeaten stretch and leaves him at No.12 on the official UFC lightweight rankings.

A BJJ expert, the 25 year-old Dariush hasn’t featured on the rankings himself as yet, but a win over a respected name like Miller is exactly what he needs in order to push himself into the reckoning.

UFC On FOX 15 will be headlined by a middleweight encounter between Lyoto Machida and Luke Rockhold, with a potential No.1 contender fight in the same division between Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza and Yoel Romero occupying the co-main event spot on the televised card.

Miller Vs Dariush is expected to take the ‘featured prelim’ role on the card.

Over the years I've watched the UFC develop into the powerhouse it is today, organizations like PRIDE, Strikeforce and WEC rise and fall, and Bellator emerge as a new force on the MMA landscape. Throughout it all I've remained captivated by the sport and I'm excited to cover what comes next here on MMA Insight.
