Ramsey Nijem Defeats Beneil Dariush By First Round TKO At UFC Fight Night 39

Ramsey Nijem impressed tonight at UFC Fight Night 39 against the highly touted Beneil Dariush, rocking him early in the first round and overwhelming with ground and pound on the canvas to earn a TKO victory.

Round One:

Nijem comes out typically aggressive, pressing forward with kicks and punches from the opening bell.

Dariush lands a nice punch that earns Nijem’s respect. Dariush looks for a kick and Nijem uses it to take him down, but he’s able to pop back up shortly afterwards after Nijem chose not to follow him to the mat.

A little clinch work against the cage and then they are back to the striking game. Both men unleashing kicks. Nijem ducks away from a punch and lands a nice right hand counter.

A striking exchange in close and Dariush bodly goes for a flying knee. It lands, but Nijem responds with a quick right and left that drops Dariush. He gets back up unsteadily and Nijem puts him back down with more punches.

Dariush looks dazed as Nijem unleashes some very big ground and pound on the mat. The fight looks close to being stopped, but the referee is being very generous to Dariush, giving him a lot of time to recover.

Dariush tries his best to keep moving and show he’s still in this, but he’s still getting battered and is now bleeding too.

It’s all Nijem and finally the referee decides he’s seen enough and brings a long overdue end to this fight at 4.20mins of the first round.
