Much hyped Contender Series prospect Bo Nickal made it look easy in his debut tonight at UFC 285 with a first round submission finish against Jamie Pickett.
Round One:
Nickal attempts a head kick and slips. He recovers and is then in on an early takedown and walks Pickett over to the cage. He then picks his moment to manhandle Pickett to the mat, but he pops straight back up.
Nickal still clinched up and works from a front headlock to brings him down again. Nickal moves to the back and is immediately working on a rear-naked choke, then transitions to an arm triangle choke. He partly moves off to the side but is stuck in half-guard and is trying to free his leg.
Nickal adjusts his position while still in half-guard and sinks the arm triangle in tighter and soon after Pickett is forced to tap out at 2.54mins of the first round.
What an impressive debut for Nickal, continuing his habit of swift 1st round finishes to go 4-0 in his pro-career.
