A middleweight fight between Bo Nickal and Joe Pyfer that was originally scheduled to take place at UFC 335 in Las Vegas on December 12th has now been pushed back to next year.

Instead, the fight will now headline a currently unscheduled UFC Fight Night event in Cleveland, Ohio next February.

“First off, I got a call backstage. I do have some news which is pretty exciting,” Nickal revealed while appearing on stage at a political rally for Vivek Ramaswamy in Ohio last night. “My boy right here mentioned my fight in December. It actually got moved to February where I’m going to be main eventing in Cleveland. …

“We’re going to go smash this dude and then go take the belt.”

Pyfer has since responded to laugh off Nickal’s claim about how the fight is going to go down.

‘Bro talking [about] ‘gonna go smash this dude,’“ Pyfer wrote on social media. ”I will take your fake dreams away. Poor kid vs. rich kid.“

Nickal suffered the first loss of his 9-1 career by TKO against Reiner de Ridder back in May of last year to temporarily derail the stand-out wrestler’s hype train, but he’s since rebounded strongly by earning back-to-back victories via strikes against Rodolfo Vieira and Kyle Daukaus to take the No.12 spot on the 185lb rankings.

Meanwhile, Pyfer comes into this fight riding a four-fight winning streak that’s taken him to No.5 in the rankings after wins over Marc-Andre Barriault, Kelvin Gastelum, Abus Magomedov and most recently Israel Adesanya.
