Brendan Allen Submits Bruno Silva By Rear-Naked Choke At UFC On ABC 5

Brendan Allen found himself in a back-and-forth battle with Bruno Silva in the first round of their UFC On ABC 5 main-card opener today that he emerged victorious from after dropping and then submitting his opponent.

Round One:

Allen with an early high kick that lands to the upper arm. He darts forward with a jab and then another kick off the upper arm.

Threatening head kick from Allen is only just blocked in time. Allen in on a takedown attempt now but Silva avoids it comfortably.

Now Allen strikes his way into the clinch against the cage. A knee upstairs partially lands as Silva was leaning to the side.

A knee to the body from Allen but Silva then breaks free with a big hook that seems to rock Allen, though he quickly recovers.

Now it’s Allen who lands a punch that seems to hurt Silva, but his takedown attempt immediately afterwards fails.

Silva back on the offensive now as he backs Allen up with rapid-fire punches. Allen covers up but then starts firing back with fully-loaded punches. The first couple miss, but after Silva lands an uppercut he responds with a glancing right hook and follows it up with another cleaner hook that floors Silva.

Allen able to take Silva’s back on the mat and then rolls onto is back with the rear-naked choke in place and quickly forces him to tap-out at 4.39mins of Rd1.
