Brock Lesnar Reportedly Tested Positive For Same Substance As Jon Jones

Yesterday, USADA officially confirmed that Jon Jones had tested positive for estrogen blockers in an out-of-competition test prior to UFC 200, which led to him being pulled from the main event, and it’s now being reported that Brock Lesnar also tested positive for the same substance.

“I’m told by an official with knowledge of Brock Lesnar’s positive test that the substance is clomiphene, the same one found in @JonnyBones,” The LA Times reporter Lance Pugmire revealed on Twitter.

At this stage it would be worth explaining why estrogen blockers are banned. For the most part the issue is that they are often used by men as a way to combat negative effects that can arise from using other performance enhancing drugs. In some cases estrogen blockers are also claimed to increase testosterone production.

Rewinding back to when the story first broke that Jones had failed a drug test in the day leading up to UFC 200, Lesnar told fans during a Q&A that, “It’s really unprofessional of anybody of this caliber when something like that happens.”

Jones had also taken a pot-shot at Lesnar earlier this week when a fan asked him about Lesnar also failing a drug test, stating that, “I know we are not in the same boat, I’ll just leave it at that.”

However, despite appearing to be keen to distance themselves from each other, it turns out that the two stars are now standing side-by-side as they stare down the barrel of a potential two year suspension from the sport.
