Cain Velasquez Allegedly Shot At Man Accused Of Molesting Family Member

MMA fans were left shocked yesterday when news emerged that former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez had been arrested on a charge of attempted murder after a shooting incident in San Jose, and now further details have emerged that paint a picture as to why the normally mild-mannered star did something that seemed so out-of-character.

According to court documents, Velasquez had shot at a car containing three people, one of whom had been accused of molesting a close relative of the 39-year-old Velasquez.

The target of the shooting, Harry Eugene Goularte is 43-years-old and lives at a home day-care facility run by his mother. He had been arraigned on Friday on one felony count of “a lewd and lascivious act with a child under the age of 14,” and was later released, though it’s since been suggested that the molestation may actually have occurred over “100 times.”

Three days later Velasquez is alleged to have attempted to take the law into his own hands, but the gunfire didn’t hit it’s intended target, with Goularte’s stepfather, who was also in the car at the hit, being shot instead. However, his injuries are reportedly not considered life-threatening at this stage.

At the present time Velasquez is being held in jail without bail as he awaits an arraignment later today.
