Carlos Condit Indicates He’s Ready To Return To The Octagon

Former welterweight title challenger Carlos Condit has indicated that he’s ready to step back into the Octagon after a lengthy layoff.

“Yo! @seanshelby, what’s up big guy…?” Condit wrote to the UFC’s head-matchmaker on Twitter. “I’m wanting to fight in December or January… what say you!?”

Condit last fought at UFC On FOX 21 in August of last year, losing by first-round submission to Demian Maia.

That marked his second loss in a row, having previously lost to the champion at the time, Robbie Lawler by split decision in an all-out war at the start of that year.

Troublingly, that left the star with just two wins from his last seven Octagon outings and had ‘The Natural Born Killer’ seriously contemplating whether it was time to hang up his gloves, which would have left his career record standing at 30-10.

However, it would appear that he’s been able to recharge his batteries over the past year and is now looking to get back to business, and it’s certainly a boost for the welterweight division to have it’s No.7 ranked fighter in the mix again.

There’s no shortage of high-profile fights available for the 33-year-old at the top-end of the division, but at this stage no word has emerged on who he might be facing.
