A welterweight clash between Carlos Condit and Matt Brown is believed to be in the works for a UFC Fight Night event in April.
After losing five of his last six bouts, The 37-year-old Brown had indicated that he was planning to retire following one last fight with Diego Sanchez in November of last year.
However, the fact that he knocked out Sanchez in the first round seems to have given Brown hope that his career might not be over after all and so he’s been lured back into the Octagon by the opportunity to fight ‘The Natural Born Killer.’
“When I said I was retiring I never said how long… Looks like it won’t be as long as I planned either 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻,” Brown wrote on Twitter after news of his next fight broke.
The 33-year-old Condit has also toyed with the idea of hanging up his gloves for good in recent times, but after 16-months out of action, he returned to fight Neil Magny in December and lost via unanimous decision.
That means Condit has now lost six of his last eight fights, but despite that dismal record he’s still a highly regarded fighter who has consistently been competing against top-flight competition, so he’ll surely welcome the opportunity to compete against someone who has also been struggling of late.
