Chad Mendes will finally return to action against Myles Jury at UFC Fight Night 133 in Boise, Idaho on July 14th.
Mendes has spent the past two years out of the Octagon due to a suspension after he tested positive for a banned growth hormone following a KO loss to Frankie Edgar back in December of 2015.
That capped off a tough spell for ‘Money’ that had seen him lose three of his last four fights, albeit the other two defeats came in title fights with Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo.
his sole win during that period came by TKO against Ricardo Lamas, but prior to that he did hold an impressive 16-1 record and he’ll be hoping after this long layoff that he can now rediscover that kind of form in the Octagon.
As for Jury, the former lightweight has gone 2-1 since dropping down to featherweight in late 2015, with his divisional debut ending in disappointment courtesy of a submission loss to Charles Oliveira.
However, Jury bounced back with wins over Mike De La Torre and Rick Glenn to claim the No.15 spot on the 145lb rankings.
Mendes Vs Jury joins a UFC Fight Night 133 card that’s set to be headlined by Junior dos Santos Vs Blagoy Ivanov, while Paul Felder fights James Vick and Cat Zingano goes up against Marion Reneau.
