The UFC last night revealed during the Fight Night 103 broadcast that new bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt and former title holder TJ Dillashaw will be the coaches for The Ultimate Fighter Season 25.
There’s ‘No Love’ lost between these two former ‘Team Alpha Male’ training partners, whose relationship soured after Dillashaw broke away from the camp, and given the fiery temprement of both men that should make for interesting viewing during their six week stint on the show.
Of course the real treat will be watching them compete after the season concludes, with Gardbrandt just having defeated the former divisional kingpin Dominick Cruz with surprising ease to take his career record to a flawless 11-0, while Dillashaw has picked up back-to-back wins since losing the belt to extend his record to 14-3.
The theme of Season 25 of the long-running reality show will be redemption, featuring a cast of welterweight competitors who have all fought in the UFC at one time or another in the past and are now looking to battle their way back into the Octagon.
This will be the first time the UFC have put together a cast of returning UFC fighters like this since all the way back at Season 4, when Matt Serra emerged victorious and famously went on to defeat GSP to win the 170lb title.
