A light-heavyweight fight between Corey Anderson and Jan Blachowicz is expected to headlined UFC Fight Night 168 in New Mexico on February 15th.
Anderson is currently riding his biggest wave of momentum since joining the UFC over five years ago, having compiled a four-fight winning streak that’s seen him rise to No.5 on the 205lb rankings.
Along the way he’s earned a trio of decision victories against Patrick Cummins, Glover Teixeira and Ilir Latifi, but he made an even bigger statement in his last fight when he TKO’d Johnny Walker in the first round.
Blachowicz is also in great form, having won six of his last seven fights in the UFC, and he’s coming off back-to-back wins against Luke Rockhold (who he KO’d back in July) and then a split decision victory over Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza last month.
That’s helped Blachowicz rise to No.6 on the rankings, just one spot behind Anderson, making this a crucial fight for both men as they look to battle their way to a title shot in the division.
Anderson vs. Blachowicz is expected to headline a UFC Fight Night 168 card which as yet doesn’t have too many other fights attached to it, other than Ray Borg vs. Rogerio Bontorin and Monatana De La Rosa vs. Mara Romero Borella.
