Cris Cyborg Claims She’s Fighting Germaine de Randamie At UFC 214

Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino has claimed that she is going to be fighting featherweight champion Germaine de Randamie at UFC 214 in Anaheim, California on July 29th.

““July 29th I will be making my first [UFC] fight in the USA!!” ‘Cyborg’ wrote on Instagram. “I am excited the event will be in my American backyard of Orange County California and I am looking forward to putting on an exciting fight against @ironladymma. I know many of my fans never thought they would see a day where I would be fighting for the UFC belt but the time has come!”

The fight hasn’t been officially confirmed yet though, and there still appears to be some doubt about whether De Randamie will be ready in time to fight in July, due to a hand injury she indicated she was having issues with after her title win against Holly Holm back in February.

‘Cyborg’s’ announcement comes just days after a post on Twitter in which she complained about the fact that the UFC still didn’t have her next fight lined up yet, and called out her employer, stating, “@ufc if you don’t want to fight me, release me!”

It’s also been revealed that ‘Cyborg’ still has two fights remaining on her current UFC deal, but with her contract ending in October it’s unclear exactly what the future holds for the Brazilian star.
