Cris ‘Cyborg’ Denies Report She’ll Fight Germaine De Randamie At UFC 201

Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino generated plenty of interest in seeing her compete again in the Octagon after her first round destruction of Leslie Smith at UFC 198 last weekend, but it seems a rumor that she’ll fight again at UFC 201 isn’t true.

On last night’s edition of ‘UFC Tonight’ on FOX Sports 1, Megan Olivi reported that a fight between ‘Cyborg’ and Germaine De Randamie, again at a 140lb catcheweight, was being targeted for UFC 201 in Atlanta, Georgia on July 30th.

However, ‘Cyborg’ herself then took to Twitter to deny that was the case.

“My next fight will be at my weight, 145lbs. Title defense at Invicta FC,” ‘Cyborg’ wrote. “Catchweight only with Ronda Rousey or Miesha Tate.”

The cut down to 140lbs was tough for ‘Cyborg’, so she now appears willing to do so only for the biggest fights the UFC can offer her.

However, she has thrown the UFC a potential lifeline by suggesting that she would be willing to fight De Randamie, or anyone else for that matter, if the UFC makes it in her own 145lb division.

“This fight will be 145lbs?!” ‘Cyborg questioned alongside a mock-up picture of her and De Randamie. “I will defend my world title next! Shes had over 50 fights at 145 n her career #andstill.”

In response to a fan she also confirmed that, “I will fight anyone in the world in my division,” so, the ball appears to be back in the UFC’s court for now.
