Cris Cyborg Verbally Accepts Fight With Megan Anderson At UFC 221

According to UFC women’s featherweight champion Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino, she has just accepted a fight with Megan Anderson at UFC 221 in Perth, Australia on February 10th.

“I got a call asking if I would fight @megana_mma in her home country and I said Yes! [🇧🇷] [🇧🇷] [🇧🇷] [🇧🇷] [🇧🇷] [🇧🇷] [🇧🇷] [🇧🇷] [🇧🇷] [🇧🇷] Recebi uma ligação perguntando se eu lutava contra @megana_mma em seu país de origem e eu disse que sim! #CrisCyborg #cyborgnation #naçãocyborg #teamcyborg #ufc221 #ufcperth,” Cyborg wrote on Twitter.

At this stage the fight isn’t formally announced though as both fighters still need to sign on the dotted line, but if they do then the bout would likely serve as the co-main event for the show down under, which is currently headlined by a middleweight title encounter between Robert Whittaker and Luke Rockhold.

It would be a quick turnaround for the champion as she’s only just coming off a five-round decision victory over Holly Holm at UFC 219 on December 30th, which took her to 4-0 since joining the UFC in 2016, with her overall career record now standing at 19-1 (1nc).

Cyborg had been calling for the fight with Anderson though, since she’s a true 145lb’er who currently holds the featherweight title in the Invica FC promotion.

The 27-year-old Anderson has an 8-2 professional record and is on a four-fight winning streak, with her last loss coming by way of submission against Cindy Dandois back in September of 2015.
