Cub Swanson looked supremely confident at UFC Fight Night 199 this evening against Darren Elkins as he teed off with power punches early and rocked his opponent several times before the TKO stoppage.
Round One:
Swanson with his hand down low to start as he starts to feel out with punches. Swanson with a short flurry in close. Overhand right lands nicely for Elkins.
Jab for Swanson. Another jab lands as his speed and movement already starts to show. he lands a clean one-two. Jab and then a lunging right that hurts Elkins and he has to regain his balance after that.
Clipping left hand from Swanson as Elkins gets into range. Thunderous hooks from Swanson stiffen Elkins legs and sends him to the canvas.
‘The Damage’ has been in so many wars over the years and has incredible resilience, but this is not looking good at all for him.
Elkins struggles back to his feet in a daze and Swanson goes for a spinning head kick that partially lands. Elkins staggers forward and the referee quickly moves forward to wave off the fight and save him from further punishment, just as he sprawls head-first onto the canvas.
