Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta had a meeting with Conor McGregor on Wednesday night to discuss his next fight, and judging by the UFC president’s post on Twitter afterwards, all appears to have gone well.
Earlier in the day, White had indicated to ESPN’s SportsCenter that the meeting would go a long way to answering many of the questions people have about who and when McGregor will fight next.
“Today, I’m flying to Los Angeles,” White told ESPn. “So Lorenzo and I are having dinner with Conor McGregor. So tonight, at like 10 o’clock, I’ll have a lot more answers on the Conor McGregor situation.”
However, one thing White was able to confirm prior to speaking with McGregor is that there’s no chance that the Irish star could still fight at UFC 200 in July.
“He will not be in UFC 200. Not at all. That ship sailed,” White stated. “But we’ve put that behind us, and we’re in a good place with Conor, and we’re looking to make his next fight. We should have that done tonight.”
So far the results of their get-together have not been revealed, but afterwards White did post a smiley face on Twitter alongside a picture of him grinning alongside Fertitta as they flew home afterwards on their private jet.
