Dana White Likes Idea Of Joanna Jedrzejczyk Vs Karolina Kowalkiewicz In Poland

Karolina Kowalkiewicz put herself firmly in the strawweight title picture after her decision victory over Rose Namajunas in the co-main event of UFC 201 on Saturday night, and that could lead to an all Polish showdown with Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

“I’m happy I won,” Kowalkiewicz said after her victory. “Now I want a fight with Joanna Jedrzejczyk.”

The good news for her is that UFC president Dana White also likes the sounds of that fight, and he may even be willing to host it in the two ladies own homeland.

“It’s the one that makes sense,” White told Megan Olivi after UFC 201. “But we’ve got to get back to the office and figure out what to do. I’d love to do that fight in Poland.”

If the fight does come to fruition it won’t be the first time these two have stepped into the cage together, as they have previously fought while both were still amateurs learning their craft.

On that occasion, Jedrzejczyk emerged victorious courtesy of a rear-naked choke, and in the years since she’s gone on to put Poland on the map by winning the UFC strawweight title and has successfully defended her belt three times so far.

Kowalkiewicz has also made her mark since turning pro however, with a perfect 10-0 record so far, including a trio of wins in the Octagon, and now seems like the perfect time for the two to meet again.
