Dana White will be in attendance at this weekend’s ‘Fight Of The Century’ boxing bout between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, not only as a fan, but also as an analyst for Yahoo! Sports media team.
“We also have, I guess I can announce this, our expert analyst for the weigh-in and fight night,” Yahoo! Sports writer Kevin Iole said in an interview on The MMA Hour show. “I’ll back into this; we tried to hire ‘Sugar’ Ray Leonard, but he had a deal with NBC, so he couldn’t do it. We tried to hire Mike Tyson. We talked to Timothy Bradley, but he is broadcasting for TruTV on Friday, so he couldn’t do the weigh-in segment with us. We tried to get Shane Mosley, he was unavailable to do it. So I thought, how can I get somebody that is going to resonate with the public and is a good boxing person and that people are going to want to follow.
So, we have Mr. Dana ‘F’ White to serve at the weigh-ins for us as an expert analyst, giving his predictions, giving his insights on the fight. So, Dana will be working with us on Saturday, after the fight, breaking down the fight – what happened, what’s next for the guys. And he will also do some segments on Friday with us after the weigh-ins just kind of previewing the fight. I have a credential that says, ‘Congratulations Dana White of Yahoo! Sports, you have been approved for a credential to Mayweather vs. Pacquiao.”
Despite being the UFC’s president, White is widely known to be a life-long boxing fan and has already gone on record as stating that he thinks that Floyd Mayweather Jr will emerge as the winner on Saturday night.
