Derrick Lewis Vs Travis Browne Added To UFC 208 Card

Rising heavyweight contender Derrick Lewis will fight Travis Browne at UFC 208 in Brooklyn, New York on February 11th.

Lewis racked up his fifth win in a row against Shamil Abdurakhimov in the main event of UFC Fight Night 102 in Albany last weekend, and having also defeated the likes of Roy Nelson and Gabriel Gonzaga, ‘The Black Beast’ is now holding down the No.10 spot in the division.

Browne lies just one place behind him after slipping down the rankings during a disappointing 2-4 run in the Octagon over the past two and a half years that’s seen wins over Brendan Schaub and Matt Mitrione overshadowed by a string of defeats against the likes of Cain Velasquez, Fabricio Werdum (twice) and Andrei Arlovski.

Lewis had indicated that Browne was one of two fighters that were on his radar following his victory on Friday night, so now is his chance to prove that he’s got what it takes to beat the fighter who these days is best known for the fact that he’s dating UFC superstar Ronda Rousey.

Lewis Vs Browne joins a UFC 208 card that includes the UFC’s first ever woman’s featherweight title bout between Holly Holm and Germaine De Randamie, and is also rumored to be the likely landing spot for a men’s featherweight title unification fight between Jose Aldo and Max Holloway.
