Another day, another fight reportedly in the works for UFC 200, and this is a fun one – Diego Sanchez Vs Joe Lauzon.
That’s not the kind of fight you’re going to be leading a show of this magnitude with, but is the kind of scrap you can put anywhere else on the card and feel safe in the knowledge that these two veterans will do everything they can to put on an entertaining battle for the fans.
Sanchez returned to lightweight last time out and earned a significant unanimous decision win over Jim Miller. Prior to that he’d dropped down to featherweight, but he quickly realized was not the right move for him when he lost by decision to Ricardo Lamas.
On the other hand, Lauzon is coming of a unanimous decision loss to Evan Dunham back in December, which leaves him having won three of his last five fights.
Lauzon holds the distinction of having more UFC bonus awards than almost any other fighter in the sport, taking home no less than thirteen during his nine year stint in the Octagon, and going up against someone like Sanchez, you wouldn’t put it past him to add to that tally in Las Vegas on July 9th.
As yet there’s still no official conformation regarding the main and co-main event for UFC 200, but the rumors persist that Conor McGregor Vs Nate Diaz II will headline the historic show, while the likes of Cain Velasquez Vs Travis Browne, Johny Hendricks Vs Kelvin Gastelum and Gegard Mousasi Vs Lorenz Larkin are also believed to be on-board.
