Eddie Alvarez Shrugs Off Gilbert Melendez’s Positive Drugs Test

By the sounds of things Eddie Alvarez is not going to be losing any sleep over the fact that his last opponent Gilbert Melendez failed a drugs test following their fight at UFC 188 in Mexico last month.

No doubt the fact that he won the fight by split decision makes it easier to say so, but he did suffer a broken orbital bone and nose early in the fight before rallying in the later rounds.

Nevertheless, the former Bellator lightweight champion says that he’s willing to forgive and forget the fact that Melendez tested positive for exogenous origin of testosterone metabolites which has resulted in him being suspended from the sport for a year.

“Just say No,” Alvarez wrote on Twitter. “I never judge anyone fro doing anything. not taking PED’s has been a personal Descision for Me . Everyone does shit differently .I been blessed, I never felt the need to take anything , but we are in a tough sport highly competitive , I understand why guys do stuff.

“One a thing is for sure , You will never see a positive test on my end , i barley like protein powder !! If I showed you my supplement program You would absolutely erupt in laughter.”
