Eddie Alvarez has issued a statement on Instagram discussing his feelings in the aftermath of his second round TKO loss to Conor McGregor at UFC 205 on Saturday night.
Despite his heated rivalry with McGregor in the build-up to their fight, the former lightweight champ congratulated his opponent on his “amazing accomplishment”, before going on to express his disappointment at his own gameplan – indicating that he’d failed to stick to the gameplan set out by his team.
He goes on to admit that he’s taken the loss hard, but the blow has been cushioned somewhat by having his family around him, and by the sounds of things it won’t be long before he gets back into the Octagon.
