Eryk Anders TKO’s Kyle Daukaus In 2nd Round At UFC On ESPN 42

Eryk Anders got the better of Kyle Daukaus tonight at uFC On ESPN 42, dropping him several times in the opening round, including via an accidental clash of heads, and his opponent never seemed to fully recover from that and continued to struggle in the second round until the TKO stoppage.

Round One:

Leg kick for Daukaus. Anders with one to the inside of the leg. Another leg kick from Daukaus. Punches upstairs followed up by a leg kick for Daukaus. He goes back to landing several solid low kicks.

Anders looking to let his hands go, but not quite finding his range yet. Nice jab for Daukaus. Anders able to take him down, but doesn’t go to the mat with him, instead opting to just kick at his legs before letting him stand.

Inside leg kick for Daukaus and a straight left. Outside leg kick for Anders. Anders with another kick. Grazing hook from Daukaus and then another. Suddenly Anders blasts him with a big punch that drops him.

Anders still reluctant to follow Daukaus to the mat though and that buys him time to recover and then eventually stand.

Uppercut from Daukaus. Leg kick for Daukaus and Anders counters with a punch. Daukaus presses forward and goes into the clinch, but not for long.

Body kick for Daukaus. Hard body punch from Anders. Glancing uppercut from him too. Body punch and an attempted kick upstairs from Anders that doesn’t land cleanly.

There’s a clash of heads now as Anders was driving forward and it drops Daukaus. He takes a little time to recover, but that can’t be good for him.

Anders with a big punch and Daukaus is back on the mat again, but there’s only seconds remaining in the round as Anders is trying to swarm on him.

Round Two:

Leg kick for Daukaus. He lets his hands go too. Body punch from Anders. Daukaus with punches and a body kick, then into the clinch against the cage.

Daukaus looking for a takedown, but Anders defending for now. Bit of a scramble now as Daukaus tries in vain to get him down and Anders stuffs his attempts.

Anders looking to strike and Daukaus just goes to his back. He’s likely in survival mode here after the damage he took in the first round, but he’s doing his best to fight through it.

Back on the feet they go. Anders lands a left hand and yet again Daukaus is down and tries to grab a leg. Anders going to work with ground and pound now, and as multiple hammerfists land the ref steps in to hand him a TKO victory at 2.45mins of Rd2.
