Frank Mir Demolishes Todd Duffee In 73 Seconds At UFC Fight Night 71

Frank Mir proved he’s still got plenty to offer in the UFC’s heavyweight division tonight at UFC Fight Night 71 as he got into a slug-fest with Todd Duffee and came out on top, demolishing his younger opponent with a giant left hook that instantly knocked him out.

Round One:

The heavyweight main event of the evening is underway. Duffee feels out with the jab to start. He looks to exchange, but Mir counters.

Mir lands a big left in close and Duffee’s legs look to have buckled slightly and follows up with a knee. Mir has Duffee in trouble early here, but to his credit Duffee is still hanging in there and he catches Mir with his own left hand too. Either man could go out at any second here as they let their heavyweight hands fly without much regard for defense in the opening minute.

Duffee presses forward winging hooks that miss the target and in the process he leaves his chin out and Mir lands a perfect left hook on it that topples Duffee off to the side, landing face first on the mat. Brutal finish with an unneccessary extra punch on the mat from Mir before the ref stepped in – Duffee was out stone cold from the moment that massive hook landed.

Crazy fight for the 1.13mins it lasted, and an equally crazy finish.
