Former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar will continue his stint in the featherweight division with a fight against Charles Oliveira at UFC 162 on July 6th in Las Vegas.

Edgar is coming off an unsuccessful attempt to take the 145lb title from Jose Aldo – his third loss in a row, though each defeat came in a title fight and so ‘The Answer’ is still rightly considered as one of the UFC’s elite.

As for Oliveira, like Edgar he recently mvoed down to the featherweight division, but after winning his first two fights the he lost by KO to Cub Swanson last time out. Nonetheless he’s still considered a very talented young fighter and this should be an entertaining fight.

Meanwhile, another exciting looking featherweight match-up between the aforementioned Cub Swanson and Dennis Siver will also grace the Octagon at UFC 162.

Both men are currently operating in the upper reaches of the division with Swanson looking for his fifth straight victory. while Siver is 2-0 since moving down from the lightweight ranks.

It’s likely both these encounters will take place on the main card at UFC 162 which is set to be headlined by a middleweight title fight pitting Anderson Silva against Chris Weidman.
