Gegard Mousasi TKO’s Uriah Hall In First Round At UFC Fight Night 99

Gegard Mousasi gained revenge for his upset loss to Uriah Hall tonight at UFC Fight Night 99, recording a first round TKO victory after a sustained ground and pound assault.

Round One:

The main event of the evening is underway in Belfast.

Hall faking some spinning kicks. Low leg kick for Mousasi and a counter-punch in return from Hall. There’s the spinning kick from Hall, but it misses.

Leg kick for Mousasi. Patient start for him. Nice low leg kick for Hall. Solid leg kick from Mousasi. Solid jab from Mousasi snaps Hall’s head back.

Beautiful spinning kick upstairs from Hall and it just glances Mousasi. That’s a real warning shot for him. Another spinning kick from Hall just comes up short.

Leg kick for Hall and Mousasi tries to counter with a punch. Leg kicks for Hall. Another kick just as Mousasi is trying to launch a punch.

Suddenly Mousasi ducks in for a takedown and settles for pressing Hall against the cage. Mousasi manages to bundle Hall to the mat in the final minute of the round.

Hall lying flat and pressed awkwardly up against the cage as Mousasi starts blasting away with punches. Hall not responding well to this offense and starts to just cover up. He continues hammering away and the ref decides Hall has had enough – Mousasi gets the TKO victory with 4.37mins of the first round gone!

Mousasi’s happy to gain revenge for his prior upset loss to Hall and he emphatically evened the score there.
