Geoff Neal TKO’s Niko Price In Second Round At UFC 240

Geoff Neal threw caution to the wind trading punches with Niko Price tonight at UFC 240, but it all paid off in the end when he TKO’d him with ground and pound in the second round.

Round One:

Missed front kick to the body from Price. Body kick for Price. Neal with a fast one-two that misses the target. leg kick for Price.

Superman punch from Price. Short left hand for Neal as he closes the distance and goes for a takedown. He manages to get him down and there’s a scramble as Neal looks for a choke.

Price able to stand, but Neal is still on him in the clinch against the cage. Neal opts to back away. Left hand for Neal. Right for Price. He tries for a head kick that’s just blocked. Price with a knee in close.

Solid left for Neal. Price trying for a takedown, but nothing doing and Neal clinches against the cage.

Price with a knee, but then hooks land for Neal and another punch in response from Price.

Striking range and both men appear to land a strike along with a clash of heads and both are hurt, but it’s Price who is able to recover quickly and get on top.

Neal seems ok from his back though. He’s able to work his way back to his feet. Neal able to get another takedown and takes Price’s back as the round ends.

Round two:

Hard left hand from Neal, kick for Price and then more punches from Neal in return. Frenetic exchange here as both fighters throw caution to the wind.

In the chaos Price tries for a guillotine choke. Neal able to get out of that and is now comfortably on top. He’s looking to take Price’s back but then settles for working in the guard.

Neal starts to land some hard strikes and Price is bloodied up now. Hard left for Neal. Another two blows land and anothher. Nasty left hands from Neal landing and Price is close to getting knocked out here. The referee sees that and after one more big blow he decides to end the fight, handing Neal the TKO win at 2.39mins of the second round.
