Glover Teixiera Vs Patrick Cummins Announced For UFC Fight Night 77

A light-heavyweight fight between Glover Teixeira and Patrick Cummins has been announce as the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 77 in Sao Paulo, Brazil on November 7th.

Teixeira is fresh off a third round rear-naked choke submission against Ovince St. Preux at UFC Fight Night 73 less than two couple of weeks ago which saw him rise to No.3 in the official 205lb rankings.

Having lost two fights in a row prior to that followed by sitting out due to injury for almost a year, it seems like the Brazilian is eager to get back to work and start to forge a new winning streak, though he’ll struggle to match his previous nine-year unbeaten stretch between 2005-2014.

Cummins has proven to be a significant force force in the division since stepping in on short notice to fight Daniel Cormier at UFC 170 in 2013. He lost that fight against the man who’s now holds the title by first round TKO, but to his credit he then rallied with a three fight winning streak.

Facing another top contender in Ovince St. Preux resulted in a KO defeat, but again showed his resiliance by notching up a TKO victory over Rafael ‘Feijao’ Calvancate at UFC 190 earlier this month and currently resides at No.10 in the rankings.

Teixeira Vs Cummins will serve as the lead-in to UFC Fight Night 77’s main event which offers up a trilogy fight between Vitor Belfort and Dan Henderson.
