Gregory Rodrigues has denied Anthony Hernandez’s allegations that he was cheating during their headlining middleweight clash at UFC Fight Night 285 on Saturday night, which ‘Robocop’ won by unanimous decision.

“The f**ker was cheating and grabbing inside of my gloves,” Hernandez had claimed at the post-fight press conference. “And I told Herb (Dean) that. I fight clean, man. So, it is what it is. Maybe I should be more dirty. I told fking Herb, ‘this motherfker grabbed my glove like four times, and I was like, ‘Hey, he’s grabbing my gloves.’ And he told him, ‘Hey, stop.’ But I mean, whatever, don’t take a point, whatever. You know what I mean? F**k it. I guess people like to cheat, so it is what it is.”

Now Rodrigues has responded, insisting that he won the fight fair and square.

“He can say whatever he wants. You know?” Rodrigues said on The Ariel Helwani Show. “The fact is I beat him with the leg kicks, the punches. He didn’t take me down. He didn’t do nothing. He did put a pressure that was good, but I didn’t cheat him. He knows that.

“I didn’t cheat during the fight. We fought good. It was a dogfight. Everyone saw it. we tried to kill each other every moment and every round. If it was clear, Herb Dean would’ve said something, or everyone’s going to see on TV or whatever.”

That being said, Rodrigues acknowledge it’s possible he did grab Hernandez’s glove by mistake, but it wasn’t something that was going to change the outcome of the fight.

“Sometimes, involuntary, my hands grab his gloves, but it was nothing that would change the result of the fight. But I’m still the same. A lot of respect for him. I know he’s a warrior.”
