Earlier in the week we reported that GSP Vs Johny Hendricks was being targeted for an October event, but it appears that it’s now been shifted back to November instead.
While there’s nothing official yet it’s likely this will be the headliner for UFC 167 in Las Vegas.
GSP last fought in March, earning a comfortable decision victory over Nick Diaz, while Hendricks won a judges decision against Carlos Condit to notch up his sixth consecutive win inside the Octagon.
Given that neither fighter is injured and how eager Hendricks is to fight the champion it’s a little surprising that there’s going to be an eight month gap between this and GSP’s last title defense.
What that does ensure is that there’s no chance of GSP engaging in a superfight with Anderson Silva this year.
