Gunnar Nelson Vs Alan Jouban Set For UFC Fight Night 107

A welterweight bout between Gunnar Nelson and Alan Jouban will take on co-main event duties at UFC Fight Night 107 in London on March 18th.

Nelson picked up a neck crank submission win over Albert Tumenov back in May of last year, earning himself a ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonus in the process, and that got him back to winning ways after having lost to Demian Maia by decision prior to that.

The 28 year-old Icelandic fighter had then been lined up to face Dong Hyun Kim at UFC Fight Night 99 in November, but he was forced to pull out of the bout due to an injury, meaning that it’ll have been almost 10 months since his last appearance by the time he next steps into the Octagon.

As for the 35 year-old Jouban, he’s compiled a three-fight winning streak in the division over the past year, defeating Brendan O’ Reilly, Belal Muhammad and Mike Perry, taking his overall UFC record to 6-2.

That’s earned him biggest fight to date and a win over Nelson could be the key to finally unlocking a place in the top 15 rankings at 170lbs.

The announcement of Nelson Vs Jouban helps strengthen the UK card, which will be headlined by a clash of top 10 ranked light-heavyweights as Jimi Manuwa goes up against Corey Anderson.
