A bantamweight fight between Holly Holm and Ketlen Vieira will headline UFC Fight Night 10 on May 21st.
For former champion Holm this will be her first fight back after over a year-and-half on the sidelines due to ailments and injuries preventing her from competing.
Before those setbacks the 40-year-old had put together back-to-back decision wins over Raquel Pennington and Irene Aldana in 2020 after losing out in her 135lb title challenge against Amanda Nunes by TKO in 2019.
Despite her long layoff, Holm still remains the No.2 contender at 135lbs and is No.7 on the women’s pound-for-pound rankings heading into her next fight.
As for Vieira, she’s coming off a big unanimous decision win over another former champion in Miesha Tate in November.
After a strong start to her UFC run that saw her win four fights in a row, Vieira has been alternating between wins and losses in her last four fights though, with a KO loss to Irena Aldana coming before a decision win over Sijara Eubanks, then a loss on the scorecards to Yana Kunitskaya prior to the win against Tate.
As such Vieira is now the No.6 contender in the division, so this fight could provide her an opportunity to jump up the bantamweight ladder if she emerges victorious.
Holm vs Vieira tops the bill at a UFC Fight Night 210 card that is also expected to feature a heavyweight fight between Ben Rothwell and Alexander Gustafsson.
