Jan Blachowicz earned a first round TKO victory against Ilir Latifi tonight in his debut at UFC Fight Night 53 with a hard body kick being the catalyst for the finish.
Round One:
Blachowicz with a quick leg kick and soon after one to the body. A brief lull and then he throws one upstairs that just misses.
Right hand lands for Blachowicz as Latifi tries to counter to the body. Latifi swoops in on a takedown attempt, but Blachowicz is quickly out of danger.
Blachowicz suddenly bursts forward with a short flurry of strikes and follows up with a heavy body kick. That landed hard and Latifi backs up looking hurt.
Latifi backs up against the cage and Blachowicz blasts him with a kick that’s only partially blocked. Latifi tries desperately to reach for a takedown, but he’s dazed and winded and suddenly sinks to the mat.
Blachowicz gives him no time to recover and starts blasting him with shots as the Swede turtles up and that’s it, Blackowicz is the second fighter in a row to silence the home crowd with a TKO victory at 1.58mins of the first round.
