A women’s strawweight fight between Jessica Andrade and Tecia Torres has been booked for UFC On FOX 28 on February 24th in Orlando, Florida.
Andrade was unsuccessful in a bid to take the title from the division’s champion at the time, Joanna Jedrzejczyk earlier this year, but the 26-year-old bounced back in impressive fashion by unanimously defeating Claudia Gadelha on the scorecards just a few months later.
That leaves Andrade ranked No.2 in the 115lb ranks as she heads into her next fight with Torres, who has also been in fine form as she has registered a three-fight winning streak during her 2017 campaign in the Octagon.
Along the way ‘The Tiny Tornado’ has defeated Bec Rawlings, Juliana Lima and most recently Michelle Waterson to take the No.5 spot in the division, and with an overall 10-1 career record to her name, including a 6-1 stint in the UFC, the 28-year-old will surely be targeting 2018 as the year that she finally secures a shot at the title.
Andrade Vs Torres joins a UFC On FOX 28 card that doesn’t yet have a main event installed, though fights between Alan Jouban and Ben Saunders along with Gilbert Burns Vs Olivier Aubin-Mercier have already been confirmed for the show.
