Jessica Eye Speaks Out After Devastating Knockout Loss At UFC 238

Jessica Eye suffered one of the most devastating knockouts you’re likely to see in the Octagon against flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 238 in Chicago on Saturday night.

Early in the second round Shevchenko landed a head kick to the temple and it knocked Eye out cold, sending her head thudding onto the canvas as she toppled backwards from the impact, leaving her unconscious for several minutes afterwards.

Thankfully Eye did then regain consciousness and as the dust settles on the event she’s now issued her first statement about what transpired at the weekend.

“Congratulations @BulletValentina that was incredible head kick,” Eye wrote on Twitter. “I am thankful for the chance to share the cage with you.

“To my true supporters: thank you so much for all you do for me. I am ok and thank you for caring about me. I had a great camp and felt the best I have ever. I made some mistakes that cost me dearly. This fight game can be rough at times but it’s what I signed up for.”

Eye also wrote made a post on Instagram expressing similar sentiments.

“Thank you @bulletvalentina and @ufc and to all of those who support me . I am blessed with love, support and I prepared my best but unfortunately was caught by a spectacular head kick. The fight game is a gamble and can go both ways sometimes. if you want to judge me go do it better … 🤗.”
