Jimmy Crute TKO’s Sam Alvey In First Round At UFC 234

Jimmy Crute claimed a first round stoppage victory over Sam Alvey to open up the UFC 234 main card tonight in Melbourne, Australia.

Round One:

Front kick to the body from Crute and then a missed body kick to the body. He goes back to the leg kick. Then the front kick to the body again.

Head kick from Crute this time that’s blocked. Missed hook from Alvey and another head kick from Crute is caught on Alvey’s arms.

Upstairs he goes away with the kick and its just glances past Alvey’s head. However a heavier kick to the body does connect.

Leg kick for Crute and Alvey tries to counter and misses. Alvey with a few punches that are caught by Crute’s guard.

Short powerful punch from Crute to the jaw catches Alvey off-guard and buckles him to the canvas. Alvey gets back up and retreats, but he’s still wobbled and Crute is now stalking him.

Head kick attempt from Crute, but it lands on Alvey’s shoulder and he has to hop awkwardly on one leg before pulling Alvey down on top of him.

Alvey is dazed and doesn’t put up much resistance as Crute gets on top and starts landing punches. Alvey turtled up and trying to defend, but the ref has seen enough and steps in to end the fight at 2.49mins of the first round.

Alvey is livid at the stoppage and rants at referee Marc Goddard, but it won’t change the result.
