It’s now official that Woman’s strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzeczyk will defend her title against Jessica Andrade at UFC 211 in Dallas, Texas on May 13th.
Holding a 16-5 record, Andrade has been on fire since dropping down to 115lbs in June of last year, racking up three wins in a row over Jessica Penne, Joanne Calderwood and most recently dominating former Invicta FC champ Angela Hill to put herself firmly into title contention.
After her latest win Andrade called for a title shot against Jedrzeczyk, and given the impressive nature of the No.3 contender’s recent victories the UFC have been more than happy to put together what should be an explosive title match-up for the Texas show.
Jedrzeczyk currently holds a perfect 13-0 career record and is aiming to make the fifth defense of her title in the past two years after already having taken out a slew of top ranked challengers like Jessica Penne, Valerie Letourneau, Claudia Gadelha and Karolina Kowalkiewicz.
Jedrzreczyk Vs Andrade is expected to serve as the co-main event for the UFC 211 event, which will be headlined by a heavyweight title bout between Stipe Miocic and Junior dos Santos, while Fabricio Werdum Vs Ben Rothwell is also scheduled for the main card on pay-per-view.
