Joe Rogan Awarded His Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt By Eddie Bravo

UFC color-commentator and long-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner Joe Rogan was awarded his black belt by Eddie Bravo yesterday.

Anybody who’s heard Rogan’s live analysis of UFC fights will already know that he’s well versed in the intricacies of BJJ which had been honed during a number of years training under his friend Eddie Bravo at the 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu gym.

Until now the 44 year-old had been a long-time brown belt holder, but after working on improving the weaknesses in his game he was finally handed the coveted black belt and needless to say he was thrilled to receive the honor.

“I’ve been training since 96, and I’ve been a brown belt for 7 or 8 years now, so it really feels like a long term accomplishment to me, and I’m really motivated to get even better! It’s a real honor. I even cried a little :)” Rogan told the UG forum.

Along with his new BJJ black belt, Rogan is also a 2nd degree black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do and won the U.S Open championship in his youth before later switching his focus to becoming a comedian, actor and commentator.
