Conor McGregor recently posted up new photos that suggest he’s packed on a lot of muscle lately alongside a comment that he’s now “190lbs of granite”, and it’s led to long-time UFC color commentator Joe Rogan joking that the UFC’s anti-doping officials will be knocking on his door sooner rather than later.
“That’s him now, he’s super jacked. USADA’s gonna take a visit to him very soon,” Rogan said on his JRE podcast. “It’s a weird picture, honestly. I mean, he’s definitely jacked, but it looks to me like he’s in the middle of lifting. If you see a guy’s body in the middle of lifting, it’s a little deceptive.
“He’s still jacked. He still looks great. But when you lift weights, as you do it, like those bodybuilders go on stage before those big Mr. Olympia things, they all get pumped… He looks good though.”
According to McGregor’s long-time coach John Kavanagh the star may return to action in the summer of next year and the former two-weight champion has already made it known that he’d be interested in going straight into action against current lightweight titleholder Charles Oliveira, who has already expressed his desire to fight him.
However, it would be extremely hard to justify McGregor getting an immediate title shot after losing two fights in a row, with Justin Gaethje appearing to be a more likely candidate to fight for the belt next, though strangers things have happened in the UFC over the years so nothing is certain.
