John Dodson Vs Eddie Wineland Assigned To UFC Fight Night 108

UFC Fight Night 108 in Nashville on April 22nd might not be getting Demian Maia Vs Jorge Masvidal after all, but it has been given a meaningful new fight in the shape of a bantamweight clash between John Dodson and Eddie Wineland.

A former two-time flyweight title contender, Dodson is currently back plying his trade in the bantamweight division and has so far gone 1-1, TKO’ing Manvel Gamburyan in the first round before losing out by split decision to one of the 135lb weight classes top contenders, John Lineker.

That leaves Dodson ranked No.9 in the division and he’ll now go up against the No.11 ranked Wineland who hit a rough patch for a while, losing three out of four fights between 2013-2015, but pulled things around in 2016 with back-to-back TKO wins over Frankie Saenz and Takeya Mizugaki.

Dodson and Wineland is expected to feature on the main card of the UFC Fight Night 108 line-up, which will be headlined by a featherweight encounter between Cub Swanson and Artem Lobov.

The evening will also include a co-main event between the returning Al Iaquinta and Diego Sanchez, plus Ovince St. Preux Vs Marcos Rogerio de Lima, Thales Leites Vs Sam Alvey and Alexis Davis Vs Cindy Dandois.
