John Dodson Vs Scott Jorgensen Set For UFC On FOX 9

Ian McCall has had to pull out of his UFC On FOX 9 clash with Scott Jorgensen due to an injury, so the UFC have had to look elsewhere to find a replacement.

Luckily they’ve managed to talk former No.1 contender John Dodson into accepting the fight against Jorgensen which will take place on the prelims of the December 14th card.

Dodson is fresh off an impressive KO win against Darrell Montague at UFC 166 earlier this month that leaves him with a 4-1 record in the Octagon so far.

Jorgensen will be moving down from the UFC’s bantamweight division to take on Dodson after a rocky recent record that’s seen him pick up just one win in his last four bouts.

Both of these fighters are known for bringing plenty of action to the UFC’s Octagon with three ‘Fight Of The Night’, one ‘Knockout Of The Night’ and one ‘Submission Of The Night’ bonus between them, so there’s no reason to think this won’t be an enjoyable encounter.

It’s not going to be featured live on FOX though as the main card is already set with a lightweight title fight between Anthony Pettis and Josh Thomson set to take on headline duties, while a featherweight fight between Urijah Faber and Michael MacDonald serves as the co-main event.

A welterweight fight between Carlos Condit and Matt Brown plus Chad Mendes Vs Nick Lentz rounds off the four-fight televised portion of the event on FOX.

Over the years I've watched the UFC develop into the powerhouse it is today, organizations like PRIDE, Strikeforce and WEC rise and fall, and Bellator emerge as a new force on the MMA landscape. Throughout it all I've remained captivated by the sport and I'm excited to cover what comes next here on MMA Insight.
