Johny Hendricks Taking No Chances With UFC Fight Night 82 Weight Cut

Last year the UFC looked to be on the verge of forcing Johny Hendricks to move up to 185lbs after a botched attempt to cut down to the welterweight limit, but he’s been given another chance to prove he can do it this weekend at UFC Fight Night 82 and he’s taking no chances this time around.

‘Bigg Rigg’ has been known to have issues cutting weight in the past, but it really came to a head on weigh-in day for his UFC 192 fight with Tyron Woodley in October of last year, with the 32 year-old being rushed to hospital with an intestinal blockage and kidney stones, resulting in the bout being cancelled.

The end result was perhaps not surprising when you consider that Hendricks is reported to have been weighing between 210-215lbs when he began his camp for that fight.

It’s a completely different story just a few days away from his latest fight against Stephen Thompson at UFC Fight Night 82 however as his diet and weight-cutting process has been completely revamped, meaning that by Tuesday he was already down to 173.5lbs

““Our weight has been and will continue to be MANAGED!!!!” Hendricks new nutrionist assured fans, while Hendricks also posted a picture of himself looking lean and confirming that this is the lightest he’s ever been at this stage in his fight camp.
